撒勒法酒庄(Zarephath Wines) nestled in the picturesque Great Southern region of Western Australia, is a quaint, family-owned winery located within the Porongurup subregion. Its unique location is a testament to the area's natural beauty and rich viticultural heritage.
First established in 1994 by a religious order of the Benedictines, Zarephath Wines has undergone a transformative journey since being acquired by Roise Singer and Ian Barrett Lennard in 2013. Since then, the duo has wholeheartedly embraced the vineyard and winemaking operations, ensuring a personal touch in every bottle.
In 2015, Zarephath Wines expanded its offerings with the addition of a dining experience that complements their wines, featuring seasonal vegetables and locally sourced ingredients. This allows visitors to indulge in a perfect harmony of culinary delights and fine wines.
Spanning over 8.9 hectares, the vineyard at Zarephath Wines is dedicated to cultivating a selection of varietals that include Riesling, Shiraz, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir. The Great Southern region, known for its diverse and distinguished vineyards, is a wine-making haven with its expansive land and five distinct subregions, each characterized by its own unique terroir.
Perched on the eastern slopes of the Porongurup Range and close to the内陆, the winery enjoys a continental climate with intense summer heat mitigated by refreshing sea breezes. These conditions enable the grapes to achieve optimal ripeness, accumulating the perfect balance of sugar and phenolic compounds.
With a deep-seated commitment to organic production, Zarephath Wines aims to produce wines that truly reflect the terroir of the area. Their offerings include a range of exceptional expressions such as the 'Zarephath Wines Priory Riesling', 'Zarephath Wines Pinot Noir', and 'Zarephath Wines Shiraz'. Notably, the 2011 vintage of their 'Zarephath Wines Shiraz-Cabernet Sauvignon' secured a munificent bronze medal at the Qantas WA Wine Show and an outstanding 90 points from the esteemed James Halliday, a testament to their high-quality wines.
